Ask your doctor!

Hey all!

I am back again with my unpopular opinion.

So a lot of you know that I currently am working in a diagnostic clinic under my EMT license & you may also be asking what a diagnostic clinic is.

It is a facility that evaluates a persons condition.

My specific company & location has MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging, 3T), CT (Computerized Tomography), mammogram, bone density, X-ray, & Ultrasound.

My job as the EMT is mainly patient care, but I help out as much as I can wherever I can.

Now… The reason for this blog post is to highlight something that I have noticed being off the truck. (truck = the ambulance, for all my non EMS friends).

NOT QUESTIONING YOUR DOCTOR.

I’m not sure why but people automatically assume that doctors have peoples best interest in mind. Which most of them do. But doctors weren’t made in labs & they don’t have super powers or some secret formula that heals all.

They’re normal people that just so happen to have more schooling in healthcare than you do.

But doctors have bad days.

Some probably have more bad days than most. I mean think about it..

Family problems from working too much, patient loss, fatigue, stress, & the list could go on… & on top of that they have to be perfect for every patient diagnosis?

HELL NAH. They’re going to make mistakes.

& this is where I get to my point…

If you go to the doctors & they order a bunch of tests, ask questions.

Are they using big words with like 10 syllables? Ask questions.

Tell them to use normal people words to help you understand why YOU are PAYING them. Because if they can’t answer your questions, that’s a huge red flag.

If a doctor truly has your best interest in mind, they will not leave you in the dark.

Stop paying thousands of dollars just because your doctor “told you so.”

ASK QUESTIONS.

Please don’t mistake this post as a hit to all doctors, It’s not.

If you are a doctor threatened by this post then you’re probably sketchy. Sorry not sorry.

Thanks for reading friends!!

xoxo ambie
