My name is Amber, but you can call me ambie!
Hi! Welcome to my page. To introduce myself, I’m Amber & I’ve been an EMT for about 4 years & I’m currently in a Paramedic Associates program. (Yes, there is a very big difference between the associates program compared to a conventional medic program)
After I get my medic I’ll be applying to various fire departments such as LA County, Washington State, & possibly Oregon. (Let me know if you got the hook ups)
I currently work PRN (as needed) at a diagnostic clinic & I also volunteer with American Red Cross Disaster Health Services when time permits.
Some fun non-work related things about me:
I love food; specifically sushi, tacos, & pizza. (in that order)
I love things that are aesthetically pleasing; colors, furniture, restaurants, etc.
I love the beach & the mountains equally
My favorite color is charcoal grey
I sing in the shower (not very great if I might add)
There’s a lot more to me, but I’ll leave you with that for right now.
Time for the important stuff..
Over the last four years I have learned so much about the EMS system, the EMT do’s & don’ts, & a whole lot of patient care.
I got into EMS mainly to help the sick & injured (super cliché.) But, I didn’t realize that I would end up wanting to do so much more with it.
I had some help when I first started out as an EMT, but as time went on I found myself having to figure out a lot on my own.
Specifically the things they don’t teach you in school; different jobs that you can get as an EMT, re-certifying your NREMT, applying to medic school, & etc..
There was SO MUCH I didn’t know & had to find out on my own & that’s why I decided to bring everything I’ve learned here.
My goal is to create a community & give that community somewhere to go when they need some guidance. Also, mainly just to make it less of a hassle to navigate through the EMS world & to have fun while doing it.
If you’re not in EMS, I’m also here for you too! I give ideas on how you can help out in your community!
Let’s work together to save some lives.
& as always,
xoxo ambie
